By Comments Off on Project Export Hosts Export Trade Surgery With Us

Our clients Project Export have recently announced their latest surgery on Exporting Trade. This surgery though is slightly different, they’ll be joined by an associate company based in Budapest via skype to form a ‘Regional Insight’ hour.

They are happy to give first hand advice about doing business in Central and Eastern Europe, across to Russia and also to include the Balkan countries.

ProjectExport is made up of a group of international trade professionals, each with many years of experience in their respective disciplines. It is an entirely private initiative, driven by Exportaid and supported by experts in international selling and marketing, language and interpretation, contract and intellectual property law, Customs and regulatory requirements, documentation and logistics.

The event will take place on 7th June from 1pm

Barnados 150th Anniversary at Buckingham Palace

By Comments Off on Barnados 150th Anniversary at Buckingham Palace

Last week Rob, Amy and Jon attended a garden party to remember at Buckingham Palace all in honour of Barnados 150th anniversary.

Barnados welcomed 5000 volunteers, supporters, and young people that they support into the queens gardens for a spectacular party. Cotton Court was invited to Buckingham Palace as supporters of Barnados. We’ve supported Barnados in many ways such as raising money for them at various events, giving presents to them to support their young people at Christmas, and most importantly trying to find 150 businesses to sign up and pledge something to help young people.

At the event we were treated to fabulous music from the Gurkha Brigade and scrumptious afternoon tea fit for a royal! We even had time for a little celebrity spotting with people such as Warwick Davis, Nicola Roberts and of course Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall.

The guys from Remploy beat everyone in the office in the table football competition, and the guys from Intelligent fleet management smashed the ping pong competition! It was a great night had by all!

Look out for details of our summer social coming soon!

Vibe Tickets enters #VOOM Pitch To Rich!

By Comments Off on Vibe Tickets enters #VOOM Pitch To Rich!
Vibe Tickets has entered the #VOOM Pitch To Rich competition this year, to be in with a chance to pitch their idea to Richard Branson, and win £50,000 to go towards improving the product, £250,000 for a marketing budget which will hugely help with Vibe’s efforts in continuing the #OutTheTout campaign and connecting more fans worldwide.

The Pitch To Rich competition gives Vibe a great platform to shout about the work they’ve been doing so far, and allows more fans to learn about the services Vibe Tickets can offer them. The exposure and support from Virgin Business could provide Vibe with a bigger audience to help and build the community- the more people using Vibe, the less people have to use secondary ticket sites that rip them off, and charge hugely inflated prices.

They are currently at position 10 in the rankings! They have had great support so far from fans, but they need to keep sharing and voting till they are at Number 1!! If you want to #VoteForVibe, and help them help more fans around the world then please vote here and share with them on social media!!

Welcome to the Cotton Court team, Ella!

By Comments Off on Welcome to the Cotton Court team, Ella!

Hello everyone, I’m Ella Worthy, Cotton Court’s Business Centre Administrator, and I can’t wait to get going and explore even into the ins and outs of everything that’s going on in and around the building.
I began my journey with Cotton Court a few days ago and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment so far. I have prior experience of working within office environments through working as a digital marketing assistant and as an administration and accounts assistant at a nursery. I also have a level Three Diploma in Social Media and Digital Marketing for Business and three A-levels.
I am no stranger to Cotton Court as I have attended many courses and have even taken part in the studio’s camera club on several occasions.
I feel like I have really slotted well into the team and so far Amy and Jon have really helped me understand the business as a whole. I’m really looking forward to working with Amy on the accounts as this is something I take a keen interest in.
Outside of my the office bubble, I have been an adult leader for Girlguiding at St Andrews Brownies and Guides for just over five years and my love of the outdoors has made me a keen photographer.

PRESTON CITY COUNCIL HOSTS PROCUREMENT PLAYERS

By Comments Off on PRESTON CITY COUNCIL HOSTS PROCUREMENT PLAYERS

Delegates from 9 cities across Europe have gathered in Preston with us to discuss boosting the local economy this week as part of an URBACT project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

This network of cities, known as Procure, is being led by representatives of Preston City Council. Procure is interested in investigating how procurement processes can be changed to better support the local economy. If they are successful in their application to enter Phase 2 of the URBACT project, they will be examining themes such as EU legislation, spend analysis, the role of social value in procurement, raising awareness of the procurement processes of SMEs, the impact of procurement and environmental procurement.

While visiting Preston, the delegates have discussed how they will proceed if their application to continue is successful; visited a traditional country pub; and had opportunities to experience our city centre.

Councillor Matthew Brown, Executive Member of community social justice, inclusion and policy for Preston City Council, says “It has been our pleasure to welcome our European partners to Preston. There’s a growing demand for innovative ways to boost the local economy and we are proud to provide leadership in this project. Much of our income is raised locally and it is important that we re-invest tax-payers money for the benefit of the local economy.

Now’s the time to rebalance the economy towards a fairer, democratic and more community-minded future. It’s great to have Preston at the heart of this initiative, which is gaining strength across Europe.”
