Client’s Vibe Tickets Smash Through Their Crowdfunding Target!

By Comments Off on Client’s Vibe Tickets Smash Through Their Crowdfunding Target!

Customer of Cotton Court and disruptive ticketing platform Vibe Tickets has smashed its £600,000 crowdfunding target.

Founder of Vibe Luke Massie told Business Cloud:

“To set a target of £600k and pull it off is incredible. It shows other firms in the North West what is possible,” he said.

“We’ve been talking for a while about how difficult it is to raise money through crowdfunding. Vibe is one of the few firms which has managed to do it successfully.

“An investment firm got us over the line, but I can’t say who they are yet because they are a public limited company.”

Vibe Tickets allows real fans to buy and sell tickets but also make new like-minded friends at the biggest events.

Luke raised £310,000 in the first 24 hours after launching on Crowdcube, including £260k from serial investor Fletcher.

“At the beginning I was let down by a couple of people who were keen to invest £100k each,” added Luke.

“Of the 300 investors we have, only 60 have come through Crowdcube. The rest, more than £500k, has come from our users and investors – people we have approached directly.

Huge congratulations to Luke and the team at Vibe Tickets from everyone at Cotton Court!

Collaboration is the secret ingredient of Innovation

How busy have you been this summer, were you working…or enjoying the sunshine?

There has been a lot going on in the worlds of politics with Brexit and sport with both the European Football Tournament and the Olympics in Rio

But we have been too busy completing one of our long term projects to get involved with much else.

This summer has seen the culmination of a huge team effort and we are ready to share it with you now.

For the last two years we at Kennedy Ross have been working on something special.

Something that takes the work we have been doing over the last 20 years with some of the biggest corporations in the UK and crystalizes it into something that is useful for businesses of any size.

That special thing is our new book “Sellology: Simplifying The Science of Selling” which we will be launching on 15th September at Glovers Bar in Preston.

Our book is designed to help businesses of any size improve their sales performance simply and quickly….and if you follow our system we guarantee results.

Like anything that is worth doing it is a team effort, both with the great people in the Kennedy Ross Team and with amazing people and organisations we are lucky enough to work with regularly.

One of the organisations we owe our deep thanks to is Cotton Court Business Centre.

Rob and his team have been instrumental in the creation of our book by providing the space for our team to explore our ideas and formulate them into a system applicable to any business of any size.

Having a venue with the right technology and enough space to spread out in has made a massive difference in the quality of our book and the team at Cotton Court have been so attentive during the process that they are real collaborators in our book.

Lancashire Gets the Crowdfunding Vibe

By Comments Off on Lancashire Gets the Crowdfunding Vibe

Lancashire County Council is investing £5,000 in Vibe Tickets, an app which helps fans to find affordable tickets to events.

Vibe provides a place where fans can exchange tickets for events and gigs, without needing to pay inflated prices from ticket touts or the resale market.

The equity funding from the county council will be made through equity crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube.

Equity crowdfunding, which enables anyone to invest in British businesses alongside professionals and venture capital firms, has grown rapidly since it came into being just five years ago.

Crowdfunding is fast becoming the first choice for many businesses looking to raise finance.

Founded by 23-year-old Luke Massie from Preston, Vibe are aiming to raise £600,000 through Crowdcube, towards the future development of their business.

Luke Massie from Vibe Tickets said: “This funding will help us to further develop our product and its offering. We’ll be rolling out new features and benefits to our existing user base. We’ll also be developing and executing our national marketing strategy, to see our community grow exponentially, as we have a great foundation to build on.
“We need to grow our team, so we’re aiming to recruit new high-skilled, technical staff who can extensively develop our applications.

“As a start-up, traditional bank funding is not an option for us. We’ve previously raised £400,000 through private investment from high-net-worth individuals who regularly advise and mentor us.

“This time we wanted to open up our funding to our fans and followers, so they can play an active role in shaping and creating the future of Vibe Tickets. The fans really are at the centre of our product, so it’s really exciting for us that we can give them a voice.”

Luke is also an ambassador for Boost, Lancashire’s Growth Hub. Boost Business Lancashire (Boost) is the name for the Lancashire Business Growth Hub. It is led by the Lancashire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and Lancashire County Council, and supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The company recently made it to the final three in the Voom 2016 Virgin Media competition, and have since received support from the Virgin Group and Sir Richard Branson himself.

County Councillor Jennifer Mein, leader of the county council said: “Luke is a young man with a great business idea that caught our attention and we’re really pleased to back Vibe Tickets using Crowdcube.

“The council wants to work with and support our enthusiastic and committed business base in Lancashire, helping them to unlock their growth potential to create new jobs and wealth in the county.

“Luke is a great example of someone who is out there, with his sleeves rolled up, making his business work.

“His national exposure through Vibe is a wonderful testament to his passion and belief. I’m looking forward to supporting and working with other ambitious companies in Lancashire.

“The county council takes a really forward-thinking approach to financial backing, for example we were the first county council to invest through Funding Circle. It’s important that we keep up-to-date with the changing funding options for companies, so that we can provide strong support for businesses in the county.”

Vibe Tickets raises more than half its £600K crowdfunding goal in 24hrs

By Comments Off on Vibe Tickets raises more than half its £600K crowdfunding goal in 24hrs

The online ticketing platform, which promises to resell tickets ethically, was founded by 23-year-old Young ‘Un Luke Massie who took to crowdfunding website Crowdcube to seek extra investment.

If Vibe raises the full amount within the next month, the business will be valued at £6m and will use the cash raised to expand its online offering.

Tech investor Scott Fletcher, who has put up £260,000 through the crowdfunding website, said of Luke: “He’s a force of nature. His vision and passion is infectious and goes to show that age is irrelevant when it comes to business.

“Vibe Tickets has the potential to disrupt the industry and that really appeals to me. I’ve got no doubt Luke will smash his £600,000 target but I think it’s vital that tech entrepreneurs like me get behind great businesses and great people.”

Fletcher isn’t the only entrepreneur who sees potential in the youngster. Tech specialist Matt Newing already invested £200,000 during Vibe’s first round of funding, which amassed £400,000 in total, Lancashire County Council has invested £5,000, and earlier in the summer Massie even turned the head of Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson.

Vibe Tickets made it all the way through to the live final of Virgin’s Voom business competition and, despite not winning, still walked away with £20,000 prize money.

“Not only did I get the chance to pitch to someone of the stature of Sir Richard but I got through to the last three and received the sort of advice that money can’t buy,” said Luke.

Vibe has until mid-September to reach its funding goal of £600,000.

Tech entrepreneur Luke Massie is following in footsteps of Branson

A tech entrepreneur who has won praise from Richard Branson is preparing to embark on the next round of funding.

Customer and friend of Cotton Court, Luke Massie, founded Lancashire-based ticketing business Vibe Tickets in 2013 to allow real fans to buy and sell tickets but also make new like-minded friends at the biggest events.

Luke recently made it to the final three in the #VOOM 2016 Virgin Media competition, and spent the day at the Virgin founder’s house, meeting his team of experts and associates.

Now he’s been preparing to make 10 per cent of the business available, for a total of £600,000, to investors on Crowdcube, including fans, followers, friends and venture capitalists. The campaign which will launch next Wednesday, the 17th August, will be the third round of funding Vibe has undertaken. They have already raised over £400,000 – including £200,000 from technology entrepreneur Matt Newing – but Massie said the next round of funding would take the business to the “next level”.

“Vibe Tickets has 148,000 followers on Twitter from around the world so Crowdcube is a great way for us to raise our next investment,” he said.

“We’re a fan-to-fan business and now real fans can invest in a genuine, ethical ticketing platform. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who shares our passion to get involved and be part of something so exciting and disruptive in the market. We haven’t even launched it yet but there’s been an unbelievable amount of interest.”

Luke said spending time with Branson was a life-changing experience.

“Not only did I get the chance to pitch to someone of the stature of Sir Richard but I got through to the last three and received the sort of advice that money can’t buy,” he said. “However I can’t be complacent so it’s for me to make my own name and the next level of funding will enable us to do that. People will be able to invest from as little as £10 so watch this space.”

Vibe is about to launch the latest version of their iOS app which hosts a variety of new features, as well as new profile management and a bespoke chat platform, built by their team of in-house developers.

HOWEVER, it isn’t over yet! The public vote may be done, but there are still more rounds we have to get through before they can Pitch To Rich! The Pitchathon starts next week- This will be a 29-hour, live-streamed attempt at a Guinness World Record! The 40 entrepreneurs with the most impressive pitches will be taken through to the next round… They are working hard on there pitch at Vibe Tickets HQ so they can get closer to pitching to Rich, and explaining to  him why so many of their fans need their help! Vibe Tickets are really passionate about helping as many fans as possible and beating ticket touts so that the secondary market is changed for the better. Every day we see stories in the media of tickets being sold for thousands of pounds, or fans being ripped off after being sold fake tickets….this isn’t how the industry should work and they are here to disrupt and change this.

They really hope you keep supporting them throughout the rest of the #VOOM Pitch To Rich competition and that your support will help to see them through RIGHT till the end!! We’ll keep you informed…but in the meantime keep spreading the #GoodVibes of Vibe Tickets!!
