The team at Cotton Court would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended and made the night so enjoyable, and an even bigger thank you to everyone for the amount of gifts that were brought for the children of Barnardos, our chosen charity.

We offered guests a free bar, buffet and live music and asked them in return to bring a gift or a small donation for Barnardos.

Barnardo’s is a British charity founded by Thomas John Barnardo in 1866, to care for vulnerable children and young people. As of 2013, it spends over £191 million each year on more than 800 local services, aimed at helping these same groups. It is the UK’s largest children’s charity, in terms of charitable expenditure. Today, Barnardo’s provides a comprehensive range of local support, counselling, fostering, adoption, education, residential and training services for more than 100,000 children, young people and their families. The charity works to transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people, and aims to enable them to fulfil their potential.

You can find out more about the work of Barnardos on their website or by following them on Twitter @barnardos

Finally, we would also like to say thank you to Jay and the team from East Z East, who provided the catering, Dani Gallagher, who kept our audience entertained; and to Chelsea and all the staff at Glovers bar for looking after us and making sure the event was a success.

Beginners’ Spanish

You don’t need to know any Spanish whatsoever to take this beginner course. We’ll have you speaking simple Spanish phrases from the very first lesson and by the end of the ten weeks you’ll have mastered the basics and have built up enough confidence to start using the language on your very next holiday.

German Intermediate

The initial stages of German can seem quite easy but with our intermediate course you’ll begin to learn some of the more subtle nuances of the language; classes are taught mostly in German itself in order to get students used to being immersed in it and to help them on the path towards fluency.

French for beginners

Whether you want to learn just enough to get through a weekend in Paris or have your sights set on loftier goals, our beginners’ French class is a great place to start. We assume you have absolutely no knowledge of French whatsoever, so start with the very basics; nevertheless you’ll be surprised just how much you will learn in ten short weeks!

Japanese language and culture for beginners

Whether you’re a manga nut or simply planning a trip, this guide to both the language and culture of Japan is both informative and fun. A notoriously difficult language to master, this course is designed to let you in on some nifty shortcuts that will help you get by; you’ll also learn how to avoid faux pas and learn the rudiments of reading Japanese.

Spanish intermediate

If you’re serious about learning Spanish then this course is for you. Designed for those students who have already spent some time with the language, we will help you sharpen the fuzzy edges of your ability taking it to a whole new level, whilst also preparing you for more advanced courses further down the road.

Saturday 28 June saw many thousands of visitors arriving in the City to enjoy an amazing family day out on Armed Forces Day.  Our Clients The Armed Forces Group (AFG Preston)

Guardians-of-the-Memorial-630x418 Dsc_4011-630x418

The Armed Forces Group Preston veterans’  charity worked with the City Council Armed Forces Champion, Cllr Drew Gale, to organise the events of the day, which included a Veteran’s parade, the Yorkshire Regiment Military Band and singing from some of Preston’s finest including Steven Bayliss and Louisa Stirland. Preston College created an array of street theatre throughout the day around the many stalls, whilst the Sci Fi Super Hero Parade entertained the children.

A Civic VIP event took place within the Harris Museum where AFG organised a fundraising raffle.  Huge thanks go to the 16 local businesses, which supported AFG with prize donations, helping raise important funding for small charities.

Vibe Tickets sponsored local boxer Matty Clarkson

By Comments Off on Vibe Tickets sponsored local boxer Matty Clarkson

Vibe Tickets sponsored local boxer Matty Clarkson in his Maxi Nutrition Semi Final bout against Travis Dickinson at Leeds Town Hall earlier this month. In all his branded gear, Clarkson took on Dickinson live on Channel 5, with Vibe Tickets founder and Cotton Court resident Luke Massie and Cotton Court owner Rob Binns ringside. The fight, stopped in the sixth round by the referee due to severe injuries to both parties, was dubbed by many ‘fight of the year’. ‘It was my first ever boxing match – and what a match it was!” Rob said following the event. Congratulations Matty & all at Vibe Tickets!
